About the Artist

The face behind The Professional Doodler guise is Kirsten Swan, a photorealist artist based in North Essex. Kirsten has been drawing ever since she was old enough to hold a pencil, and went on to study Fine Art at the University for the Creative Arts where she obtained a 2.1 Bachelor of Arts degree back in 2009.

During her degree, she specialised in feminism and the human form, but over the last decade she has progressed into the realm of pet portraiture. Kirsten has an innate ability in capturing the unique character of these beloved family members, quite often without ever meeting them. This skill becomes even more important when creating commemorative artworks; Kirsten has created many memorial pieces over the years and they always hold a prominent and significant place in her heart.

All artwork created by Kirsten makes the most perfect gift, especially for those special milestone occasions. Gift vouchers are also available if you’d prefer the recipient to be in full control of how their commission is created. It’s really important to provide a good quality reference photo as the basis for your artwork; this enables the final piece to be as detailed and realistic as possible. Kirsten always uses high quality, archival materials and frequently trials new products and techniques to ensure that her work remains as durable and detailed as possible.
